Tess Canfield is a writer with fiction and essays featured in Five Points, Santa Monica Review, Barnstorm Journal, Charge Magazine, Citric Acid, WePresent, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA from Chapman University, where she was an English Graduate Fellow, and a BA from Emerson College. Her writing has been supported by the Community of Writers Conference, Richard Bausch’s Community Workshop, and soon by the upcoming Sewanee Writers’ Conference.

Currently, Tess is an Essay Coach employed by a top boutique agency helping students gain admission to the world’s most elite colleges and universities. She’s also the co-founder and managing director of a literary non-profit called 50 Free Books, which distributes free books by historically marginalized writers every month. She lives in Los Angeles, where she’s working on a feature-length screenplay and a debut novel.
